Back in 2018, life was a one-dimension future. The only future I saw myself in was within the track of my baccalaureate degree, Psychology. In 2020, I joined an organization that answered my prayer to be in the profession I want to be. That same year, I was introduced to Mapping and GIS, and from there, my world was never the same. That is where my Mapping and GIS journey began.
In 2022, my Mapping and GIS journey continues but what I encountered this year changed my then one-dimensional view of my future to a four-dimension one. It's a dimension where I see myself as a professional Mapper and GIS Specialist. And it's all because of Pista ng Mapa X State of the Map Asia 2022 Conference.
But before I divide it into my experience and insights during the event, let me leave a few words of thanks. It's for the individuals who made it happen.
Sir Dan, my Mapping and GIS sensei. He taught and guided me as a mapper and GIS specialist. He kept me up-to-date about OSM and other QGIS updates. He encourages me to join Pista ng Mapa x State of the Map 2022. I would not have registered and taken my chance if he hadn't introduced the conference to me.
Pista ng Mapa X State of the Map Asia 2022 Organizers. Thank you for the opportunity to join individuals like individuals and me. They provide us with new perspectives on how the world is with the help of our skills. Most of all, for bringing together different individuals with different experiences to mingle, connect, and find a friend in the Mapping world. Thank you for choosing me as one of your 2022 event scholars. Also, I can't thank you enough for bringing me to the beautiful city of Legapiz, Albay.
The organization I worked. If they've never needed maps to visualize their data, I would have never known that this is how maps are made and that someone like I can do it too. I am here because they encouraged every team member to learn Mapping.
There are more people I need to thank who contributed to the experience I had during the Pista ng Mapa X State of the Map Asia 2022. I'll thank the three mentioned above for the influence and opportunity granted to me.
